A Bible Journaling Journey Continues

When I found out about the Bible journal, I was apprehensive about doing it. I saw these wonderful and beautifully decorated Bible pages. I read about the different types of supplies; a lot of them were very expensive. The special bibles were another story. I wanted that specific bible that they were using and so on. And then, when I realised that there were so many different types of those Bibles, I started doing hours of research on the perfect one for me. I came to the conclusion that I needed one that already had drawings in it.

I was reading an article about Journal Bible: Your Guide to Finding the Best for Bible Journaling written by Tracie Rollins of Bible Journaling Ministries. In her article, she spoke about a five-step guide that will help you find the best journal Bible based on your unique needs. The five steps were:
1. Establish a Budget
2. Decide on a Bible translation.
3. Journal Bible Features
4. Bible Type
5. Select the journal Bible that meets most of your requirements.

At the end of the article, she provides a link to a short quiz to find the perfect Bible for you. I took the short quiz and thought that I found the Bible for me. Little did I know that I did not really know what I would really prefer to use. However, all of these things are more suited for an American audience. As everything is at your fingertips versus us living in the Caribbean. I found that for me to get all that I needed to start my journaling, I would be waiting a long time. Here is the link to the short quiz. Click here Try it and see how well you do.

Tracie has a free Bible journaling course if you are interested. I have learnt so much from her over the months. Bible Journaling Course for Beginners. I know you will enjoy it. And it is free. I’ve discovered that free resources for Bible journaling are truly valuable.
I follow Tracie Rollins a lot since she was one of the speakers at the Flourish Bible Conference I did a while back. Tracie did the topic “Bible Journaling on a Budget.” I really connected with her.

The other speaker that also stood out to me during that five-day conference was Amber Bolton, who did an introduction to Bible journaling. Amber is currently partnering with Tyndale House Publishers to lead Bible journaling workshops on the Inspire Bible Tour. She is also the agent for the Inspire Bible. On her page, I was able to download a sample of the Inspire Bible that I have printed and paste into a notebook. The book of Genesis is what I presently am studying using the first 5 Bible study apps. Here is a link to her site and a few of the free downloads. http://inspirebible.com/, Genesis Pages, Revelation pages, Galatians-Ephesians pages and Psalm-139. Doing this will give you the feel of a journaling bible. Listen more about bible journaling.

As I continued my journey into Bible journaling, I realised that I needed to make a start, and then the things I needed and/or wanted would follow. So I looked around my house for things that I could use to start my studying; this search also included looking for a bible to journal in.
This leads me to my next post entitled Bible Journaling Supplies. Coming soon.
P.S Sorry I was not able to post over the last month (August). Life got in the way. I was dealing with my daughter, who got sick. I will write a blog post all about how bible journaling helped me in dealing with the sickness. That will be a future post.
